SEMINAR PROFILE

A11 -
Rock Thy Brain! Shakespeare--Flesh, Blood and Bones

The language of Shakespeare is, above all, physical, springing from the heart and the viscera; it is designed to touch the body, soul and spirit of the hearer. In this seminar we will approach Shakespeare's texts by working with image, movement, sound and song to investigate the interactive relationship of body, voice and thought. By giving the body a language and the language a body, we will explore Shakespeare's rhetoric, ideas and intentions by igniting both imagination and understanding through voice and body connection. This seminar will be exploring a physical approach to hearing, experiencing and teaching Shakespeare's texts.
