SEMINAR PROFILE

S04 -
Bringing Green to the Classroom

Gardening and kids are a natural fit. With Dave Epstein, horticulturalist and meteorologist you will spend three days learning about all aspects green--from how to build a terrarium with your students to starting a garden for your school. Dave will explore with you growing your own food, making compost, ideal plants for the class, local flora, container gardening, how to start seeds, testing germination rates and a bit on meteorology, climate and plants. One of the classes--probably the May 1 class-- will be on-location in one or more gardens giving teachers an opportunity for hands on exploration and garden design.
