Directing in the Classroom: How to Use the Philosophies and Techniques of Directing to Get What You Need in the Classroom. | ||
| In this two-day seminar participants will be both actor and director, taking time to discuss and strategize how to approach different moments and how this work can be brought to their classrooms. Using different techniques to create a sense of discovery, the class will work together to direct different scenes from dramatic works including preparing a scene and facilitating a rehearsal process to get what he/she needs from the cast. The director's job in the rehearsal room is to gain the actor's confidence and to help them discover deeper questions, themes and choices for their characters and scene study. Their goals mirror the teachers' goals for their classroom and students-both are committed to giving actors/students the skills they need to achieve success on stage or in the classroom. Teachers will gain insight on how to activate their classroom and empower their students to create stronger, more engaging relationships with the work they are doing in class. | |||
