SEMINAR PROFILE

A09 -
Franceso Goya at the MFA

This fall the Museum of Fine Arts will offer an extraordinary opportunity to view a special exhibition of Francesco Goya's paintings' drawings and prints. Museums from Europe and the United States, private collections, and the MFA make this a truly extraordinary viewing collection. In this one-day seminar, participants will have the opportunity to understand Goya's magnificent achievement and the enormous complexity of his work. The exhibition includes many images of Spain's war with France (considered among the greatest of any time), portraits of the Spanish intellectual class who were Goya's friends and patrons, and the Royals under whom he served as court artist. This is a not too be missed opportunity for teachers of all grade levels and content areas.
